About VMNY

24 years in education, centered on the people who do the work.

VMNY Consulting Group exists to help schools reach every learner — especially students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and the students who are hardest to engage — by strengthening the educators who serve them.

Our approach

Founded and led by Vanessa MacDonna, VMNY Consulting Group brings 24 years of K–12 experience in urban schools — ten years as a classroom teacher and more than fourteen as a district-level administrator, including a decade as a special education instructional coach. As an approved vendor to 400 Texas schools, VMNY specializes in middle school literacy, math, and science; in supporting multilingual learners and students with disabilities; and in engaging students who struggle with self-regulation.

Our educational philosophy is built on a foundation of service — supporting both children and parents through high-quality instruction delivered by educators who are professionally developed to meet the needs of every student. Rather than intervening only with students, VMNY builds on the strengths educators already have, partnering with teachers and leaders to build lasting capacity across the whole school.

Mission

To transform disengaged classrooms into engaged, participatory learning environments — one educator, one student, one school at a time.

Values

Equity

Every learner deserves to be reached, not just managed.

Inclusion

Practices that work for the full range of a real classroom.

Collaboration

We work with educators, never around them.

Student Success

Every engagement is measured by what changes for kids.

Leadership

The experience behind the work.
